Having a Safe & Healthy Workplace is Essential

Recognising the importance of a safe & healthy workplace, the Union’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee launched the “Don’t be a Target” Campaign in 2003.
The campaign highlights the key health and safety problems identified by our members and provides tools for us to help tackle these issues together. -

Pay Equity – Activism Reaps Rewards On the 25th March, 2004 the Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC) held a Pay Equity Conference. NSW: Librarians Interim Award finalised The Full Bench of the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW has made the interim award for Crown Employees (Librarians, Library Technicians and Archivists) Interim Award. The PSA had been directed to file and serve this award by the Full Bench in their decision of 28th March 2002. The PSA did this but there were discussions with the PSMO and TAFE because there were different rates arising from anomalies in the appendices to the Full Bench decision. Today after submissions from all parties the Full Bench clarified their position and with 4 minor amendments to the PSA application, made the interim award in line with appendix 8 of their decision. -
