Child Abuse and Neglect Summit 04 August 2004
Families Australia organised a Child Abuse and Neglect Summit, held in Canberra in June 2004. The Summit brought together key stakeholders from government, the business sector, unions, churches, the health sector and the community sector to discuss how they can work together to stop the rising incidence of child abuse and neglect in Australia.

Bans placed by members in the NSW Department of Community Services on the St James Children's Court due to security concerns have been lifted.
Interim security measures have been put in place and it is hoped hearings in the Industrial Relations Commission will resolve the issue. |

Anti-discrimination staff strike over cuts 31 July 2003
The NSW Government earlier this month announced massive funding cuts to the Anti-Discrimination Board This year's budget has been reduced by $750,000. This is a cut of 23%, and a further 30% cut is expected next year.
