Having a Safe & Healthy Workplace is Essential

Recognising the importance of a safe & healthy workplace, the Union's Occupational Health and Safety Committee launched the "Don't be a Target" Campaign in 2003.
The campaign highlights the key health and safety problems identified by our members and provides tools for us to help tackle these issues together.

Having a safe and healthy workplace is vital. In recognition of the importance of a healthy and safe workplace, the Union's Occupational Health and Safety Committee launched the "Don't be a Target" Campaign in 2003. This campaign aims to highlight the key health and safety problems identified by members and provides tools for members and delegates to tackles these issues together.

The key areas identified were:

  • Bullying
  • Work Overload
  • Personal Safety

The committee produced Campaign Kits on the subjects of Bullying in 2003 and Work Overload in 2004 and plans to release one on Occupational Violence in 2005.
