A recent study by University of New South Wales academic, Dr. Anne Junor, "What Explains the Employment Mode of Preferences of Casual University Employees?" has found that the majority of casual general staff would prefer more permanent and secure forms of employment.

Oct 16 wins support of all Higher Education Unions 09 October 2003

Senate Inquiry into University Funding 24 August 2003
The CPSU-SPSF group has made a submission to the Federal Government's Inquiry into Higher Education Funding and Regulatory Legislation. In it, we argue that the University Budget package is regressive and unfair. The anti-Union "Workplace Productivity Programme" is essentially a replacement for the former scheme instituted by Minister Kemp in the years 2000-2003.

CPSU Senate Submission 04 October 2001
In Septmber 2001 the Senate Committee inquiring into the capacity of universities to meet Australia's higher education needs released its report. The report confirms the CPSU submission, finding that universities are in a state of crisis.
