Stamping on the union
10 October 2002
A Canadian artist has put his stamp on the international trade union movement - literally.
Skip Hambling, is an employee of the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE), which represents 325,000 union members across Canada.
His artwork is now being lauded internationally after it was issued in Canada as a stamp to commemorate an international public sector union conference held in Ottawa in September.
The Public Services International, which represents a combined membership of 20 million public sector workers in 146 countries including Australia, has also decided to adopt the artwork as it's new logo.
Hambling has contributed his creative energies to the organized labour movement for many years.
