WorkplaceAustralian workers "done over ""Unbelievable" Fed IR changes hit the "Battlers"By David Carey The biggest Public Sector Union describes the NEW I R changes as unbelievable. The public sector union said the Federal government's changes will make it almost impossible for millions of workers to get a fair go when they get sacked, and millions more will have their minimun standard cut. If the "battlers" are Howards friends, I hate to be his enemy." said the National Secretary for the State Public Sector union, David Carey The Union said the new Workplace relations plans are the worst imaginable. David Carey said "The "Battlers" are the people Howard claims voted for him and gave him control of the Senate. Their reward is now that they cannot go and try to get their job back if they were unfairly sacked." "The lower paid workers will now not have a independent umpire, the AIRC, to make sure the minimum wage is fair. "The "battlers' reward for voting for the Howard government, who has opposed every minimum wage increase, will be a new Howard Government appointed panel of "experts" to decide the minimum rate." The new standard "safety net" for conditions the "battlers" is going to be lower for all agreements. Ths is worse than anybody imagined or predicted. The CPSU - SPSF represents 120,000 State sector workers, many of who will be "sucked up" into the Federal System with the Howard Government hostile taker over of the State I R system. Mr Carey said "There is no way they could have anyone to volunteer for this package, so they had to force the States to hand over more workers to the Federal system."
