More University Pay rises
UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN SYDNEY AGREEMENT

After 18 months of negotiation, a new General Staff Enterprise Agreement has been agreed between UWS and the CPSU/PSA. The agreement will shortly go to a ballot - it is being conducted by the university.
The CPSUPSA is urging a 'Yes' vote.
Some of the benefits achieved by the CPSU/PSA, without any loss of existing conditions, include:
Pay
- * 20% pay rise over the life of the agreement (3 years), plus $1000 increase in your base rate of pay and $1000 sign on bonus (for on going and fixed term employees).
- * Introduction of new Level 3 General Staff rates from 14 January 2005.
- * Increased casual loading to 23%, starting on 14 January 2005.
Conditions
- * Conversion process for long term casual staff.
- * New, fairer job evaluation process.
- * Enhanced career planning and development, including reimbursement for study, study leave, Higher Duties Allowances and broadbanding.
- * Improved managing change clause, including increasing redundancy pay to 60 weeks with minimum of 20 weeks and increasing salary maintenance to 12 months.
- * More flexible personal leave.
- * Paid parental leave increased to 26 weeks.
