Permanency for long term support staff
NSW Job security campaign almost finalised
With job security a major concern for workers across all industries, the NSW Public Service Association is close to finalising the permanent appointment of a large number of temporary school staff.
The NSW Public Service Association's successful campaign to win permanent appointments for long term temporary School Administrative and Support staff is close to completion.
The commencement of permanent appointment is Day 1, Term 1 2002.
The Association will meet with the Department to discuss the advertised vacancies which were not filled through the agreed internal application process. The PSA is now fighting to ensure unfilled positions not required for nominated transfers are advertised quickly to give temporary SAS staff who did not gain a position through the internal process an opportunity to apply for a permanent position.
